It’s a mammoth task to produce a horse from a youngster to 5* level, and what many watching these events may not realise is that it’s another achievement to keep a horse fit, sound and well in the run up to the event and even get them to the starting line. I’m so proud of our whole team, who have worked their socks off and been so dedicated to the horses, to have FOUR horses a...
We took a strong crew of horses up to Northumberland for Burgham International. It’s a long way to travel but well worth the trip for what’s a very horse friendly event with great tracks and a super ‘can-do’ organising team. Most of our horses were there for a prep run ahead of Burghley and Blenheim. I like to run these horses quietly cross country so they have tim... Read more...
It’s been a very busy few weeks for the team. The younger horses came out flying following great results at Luhmuhlen 5* and Bramham 4*L in June for Tenareze and Cavalier Crystal respectively.
Luhmuhlen brought the success that Tenareze and his support team deseved following many years of work and belief, and the disappointment of withdrawing from his first Badminton after a top ten dressage performance.
It was a very quick turnaround for Jess who was only home from Bramham f...
After a busy few weeks, with Badminton flowing straight into Aston-le-Walls and then on to Chatsworth in as many days, we ventured to Devon for Bicton with five horses in the Long format classes, before turning our eyes north to Yorkshire for Bramham.
Bramham is a re... Read more...
Bicton was a new three day event on this year’s calendar and the Bicton team put on a great show. We had our work cut out with five horses running in long format classes – the 7 year olds contesting their first three day event in the 2*L, and 8 year old Jet Fight... Read more...
We had a great day out with the young horses at Calmsden, with leading tests from both Uvera Z and High Hopes Viking, & Watervalley Royal Guy was a close second after dressa... Read more...
We made the long trek to the north Norfolk coast for Burnham Market with six horses – one in the three-star, one in the four-star four, and four in the advanced. The already busy weekend became somewhat overwhelming when heavy rain tried to stop play again, and the advanced jumping phases were postponed to the same day as the three and four-star. Jess an... The horses have come out of the winter on superb form, despite the British weather causing havoc to the start of the eventing season, with endless & ongoing cancellations and abandonments.

Tenareze finally made it to the start line of his first five-star. It was a great thrill for his owners and the support team to have him there as it’s taken a long time to get him to this stage.
Superstition made his third trip across the Atlantic in 18 months for the Maryland five-star, having previously finished 5th at Kentu... Read more...
We always love a trip to Millstreet in Ireland and this one didn't disappoint. It was 8 year old Et Hop du Matz's first 3*L and first three day event, and he put in a stering performance to take the WIN. We found him in France at the end of last year and whilst he's definitely still work in progress, he has all the raw ingredients including a super brain...
We are in the thick of the busiest time of the season. In the past ten days we have competed on seven of them, driven 1000 miles, had 21 clear round... Read more...

We finished the 2021 campaign with a brilliant trip to the inaugural five-star event at Fair Hill, Maryland. It was Superstition’s second stateside sortie of the season, and while his 5th
The end of our season has been jam-packed with preparations for the Autumn Three Day Events for the various horses across the levels. Last month we had Cavalier Crystal and Red Kite running in the four-star-long at Blenheim where they both did smart tests and felt great heading int... Read more...
It was a fantastic week at Millstreet for Harry with three super horses, all digging deep for great results in the 4*L. Nigella Hall and David & Sophie Bernstein's Tenareze put in a class performance in all three phases to finish a very close second. He was first to go in the dressage and scored 29 with a lovely test, motored round a tough cross coun...
It's fantastic to see Mandy Gray's Superstition and Harry on the list of nominated entries for the Olympics! Huge thanks to everyone who has played a part in the adventure so far, particularly given Harry's journey over the past six months.
We had an incredible first trip to Kentucky! It was a long shot for Harry to get there, still in the midst of his recovery from a horrific fall in October, but, with a huge amount of hard work and determination from him and a brilliant team around him, he made it happen!
We’ve had a fantastic start to the season after what has been a challenging six months.
It’s great to see Harry finally back on a horse and feeling good. He twice started riding and twice had to back off, but is now on a consistent path and coping well. It’s been a fairly grim and humbling few months for Harry – unfortunately with a head injury a simple ... Read more...
