Charity dinner party

Several months ago I was asked if I would cook and host a dinner party to raise money for chartiy.   This prize was auctioned off at the Eventing Family Ball in August and raised much more money than I had anticipated - this added pressure to an already daunting task! The Eventing Family is a great organisation that raises money for a range of charities helping members of our community who are faced with difficulties.

It was fun to do something different, breaking away from the usual lesson/day on the yard with a rider, and finally last week the time then came for me to roll up my sleeves and cook dinner!  It was bought by Appolonia Gale and two of her friends from Devon.  With a little bit of expert help I managed to pull together a soufflee to start, followed by roast partridge and a blackberry and almond tart.  I was a little nervous about whether dinner would live up to expectations but thankfully it all went well and we were helped along by Pol Roger who very generously donated some delicious champagne and fine wine which which relieved the pressure and was much enjoyed!  It was a great evening, a different sort of challenge for me, and great to be able to support such a brilliant organisation.

The dinner raised £860 and the wider efforts have raised over £30,000 to support the Eventing Family's chosen chartities.
