Gatcombe and Somerley

It has been a busy week with  two days at Gatcombe and a trip to Somerley Park Horse Trials with top ten placings for horses at both events.   Both Easter Fable and Tall Story produced nice, but not sensational, dressage tests in the IN.  They each had one unlucky fence down in the show jumping and jumped lovely clear rounds across country, finishing in 6th an 10th places.  It was a great day out in the sun for all the team with an extra specially good picnic provided by Jan Price!

Away Cruising started the day off well at Somerley with a leading dressage score of 26 in the BE100.  This was marred by a spook at a monster in the first fence in the show jumping resulting in too many time faults! He went on to jump a steady clear round cross country. Zebedee produced a much improved dressage to score 34 and a confident double clear left him in 7th place at the end of the day.  A Modern Duchess had a good day out in the ON with a nice dressage, just one pole to add in the show jumping and finishing with a clear round cross country.
