Gatcombe Horse Trials

We had a very successful weekend at Gatcombe. On Saturday Easter Fable produced our first win of the season in the Open Novice, finishing on his dressage score of 26. A Modern Duchess finished 2nd with a dressage score of 29. One unfortunate pole down in the show jumping prevented her from being the second winner of the day! Tall Story got a little tense in the dressage but jumped a lovely double clear to finish 5th in his section. A good weekend for the Novice horses. Harry was delighted with Wild Lone's test in the AI where he was lying 4th after the dressage. Although it is taking time he is now becoming much more established in this phase. He had an uncharacteristic two fences down in the showjumping and didn't run cross country as he is heading to Belton next weekend. Everyone was thrilled with Tinkas Time in the dressage where he has become much more relaxed and expressive. He too had an unlucky couple of poles down in the show jumping but gave me a great ride cross country.
