Operation update

Following two consultations in London we have made the decision not to go ahead with the planned operation to replace my right elbow with a prosthetic joint, at least for the time being, whilst the surgeons examine all other possibilities.

Both doctors felt that although the reconstructive surgery that has taken place so far looks to be extremely proficient, the shattered bone has not joined and is unlikely to do so in the future. However, they both think that it is too soon to go ahead with the prosthetic elbow replacement and that this should be an absolute last resort. We are waiting to hear back from them before we are able to make any firm plans.

Not surprisingly Rosie is relieved that she won’t have to drive herself to hospital when the baby arrives!
