Away Cruising withdrawn from Badminton

Very sadly I had to withdraw Away Cruising from Badminton. Whilst the stiffness in his neck improved all week and we tried everything possible to help get him right, without him being 100% there was no way I could consider running him.

I’m so proud of the brave face he put on to do a still competitive dressage test with a massively debilitating handicap throughout it.  He was correct and accurate everywhere with three square halts and four clean flying changes but sadly without the suppleness in his neck could not acheive any more marks.

He came here in the form of his life with a genuine chance, so I’m deeply disappointed for him, his owner Charlotte, and for all our team who’ve worked so hard. My whole year revolves around preparing for Badminton so it was a heartbreaking week, but the dream will now have to be transferred to next year’s event.  Onwards and upwards.
