Win at Eventing in the Park Australia

We’ve just returned from a very busy but successful couple of weeks in Australia.  I was invited to Perth by the organisers of Eventing in the Park for the second year running.  It’s such a fun event with a fabulous atmosphere, which takes place in a stunning position on the bank of the Swan River.  The cross country course is tough and comes up thick and fast so it was exciting to be on a catch ride!  I was thrilled to finish in the top spot this year, and to win a car was a pretty good Christmas present! 

We managed to fit plenty into our time down under.  I had three very full days of clinics in Perth & managed to swallow a few flies which I believe almost makes me an Aussie!  We took the horses swimming in the sea which was great fun although as a first timer it was strange to feel like a beginner on a horse!  A huge highlight was our campdrafting outing.  I’ve always wanted to be a cowboy and this was as close as I’ll probably ever get.  It was fascinating to learn how it all works and I enjoyed cracking a bull whip for the first time since I was a small boy and we had the likes of Matt Ryan based at Church Farm!
