Belton Horse Trials

Wild Lone had a good final pre-Badminton run in the Advanced at Belton today.  He did some lovely work in the dressage, the majority of which was probably his best yet, but unfortunately this was countered by rearing half way through! He wasn't the only horse who was affected by the very active and close crowd and ended up with a middle of the road score.

He jumped a good show jumping round.  After his antics in the dressage he was going to be out of the top placings, and having had 2 SJ time faults at Gatcombe last weekend today was a good day to test us both by taking inside lines and making tight turns. I was really pleased with the way he jumped and he was unlucky to have two fences down.

He gave me a wonderful ride cross country over a bold attacking course, and felt full of confidence and ready for his next cross country round at Badminton on Easter day!
