Burghley Part 1

It's great to be back at Burghley and the team have made a good start to the competition. The atmosphere here is brilliant and the course is big and a serious test of stamina.  We had a good time in the final of the Burghley Young Event Horse. Away Cruising went through to the top ten in second place having had the top marks for both the dressage and conformation.  Very sadly the final judging was at exactly the same time as Wild Lone's CCI**** test.  Jock Paget kindly stepped in to ride Away Cruising but having never sat on him before it was hard to him to show off his gallop and unfortunately he dropped down to finish in 7th place.  He definitely now has a lot of admirers! Let's hope he will be back at Burghley one day for the real thing.

Wild Lone did a good test and Laura Bechtolsheimer kindly came up to help and was really pleased with the way he worked and the way Harry rode him.  He didn't make a single mistake but is quite a tense horse and got a little bit tight so finished on a solid mark of 55.5.  He is feeling good though and is really relaxed in the stables so fingers crossed firmly for the cross country.
